In the wake of the much ballyhooed and media/Obama Administration propagated Arab Spring, the new Egyptian draft constitution fails to ensure built-in protections for women, those who disagree with the government and for religious minorities.
And the Obama Administration has been conspicuously silent in voicing any condemnation or disapproval of the Egyptian lawmakers who purposefully chose to make no mention of protecting freedom of expression and freedom of worship.
The draft proposal embraces the basic tenets of Islamic Shari'a law of criminalizing blasphemy, as well as any guarantee of women's rights are strictly verboten.
The largest non-Muslim religious group in Egypt are the Copts who comprise 10 percent of the total population.
The largest of the two branches of the Coptic Church are the Orthodox Copts (12 million) who hold their allegiance to the newly elected Pope Theodoros II.
The smaller Coptic Catholics (200,000) hold their allegiance to Pope Benedict XVI.
Both branches stand together in their struggle for equal protection under the law.
This Is What Democracy Looks Like...?
As published by the Associated Press, via Yahoo! News, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland "lamented the lack of consensus in Egypt's constitution-writing process."
Reportedly, Nuland also "says how people in Egypt view the draft is most important."
The AP went on to state there are "spirited" internal debates within Obama's Administration.
Yet any voices critical of the Egyptian constitutional draft can only comment on "condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak publicly about internal deliberations."
Obama Crew Slams The Jewish State...
Despite Obama turning Nelson's Eye to the overtly Shari'a-friendly Egyptian draft, there was no such restraint when it came to Israel.
As reported by the Obama-controlled Voice of America, the Israeli plan to construct 3,000 homes in the eastern area of Jerusalem met with disappproval;
"Friday's announcement of 3,000 new homes on Israeli-occupied land is especially contentious as building in the area near East Jerusalem known as E1 could obstruct the ultimate creation of a contiguous Palestinian state because it cuts through the West Bank."
VOA quoted Secretary of State Hillary Clinton condemning Israel by stating;
"[Israel] set back the cause of a negotiated peace.We all need to work together to find a path forward in negotiations that can finally deliver on a two-state solution.That mustremain our goal."
Israel conquered thousands of square miles of Arab-controlled territory to include East Jerusalem during the Six Day War of 1967.
Israel attacked neighboring Muslim-dominated nations after the Egyptian formal act of war by illegally blocking the Straights of Tiran, thus effectively isolating the Israeli port of Eilat.
Egypt's provocative act was supported by a number of Arab nations, to include Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia.
